Luisa Higgo

Saturday Lessons Teacher

Luisa began her ballet journey at the age of 4, when she started ballet at her pre-school. This early experience sparked a deep love for dance, and she soon joined a local ballet studio, where her discipline and passion for movement grew.

Over the years, Luisa worked diligently, completing her Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) exams and the Association of International Dance Teachers (AIDT) Modern Solo Performance Diploma while she trained at L’Academie de Danse. She also trained at the Joburg Ballet Academy and the Russian School of Ballet, reaching Vaganova Level 7. She participated in many prestigious events such as the SA International Ballet Competition in Cape Town, the Genée International Ballet Competition in London, and summer programs with the American Academy of Ballet in New York and Ballet Dortmund in Germany.

After matriculating, Luisa performed as a professional dancer with Joburg Ballet, where she took part in numerous productions. She values these experiences not only for their artistic fulfilment but also for the invaluable lessons they taught her about dedication and resilience.

When Luisa decided to pursue her dream of becoming a doctor, she carried with her the discipline and creativity fostered through dance. She has 5 years of experience teaching Ballet and Contemporary Dance at dance schools in Germany.

For Luisa, dance has always been more than just physical expression—it has been a foundation for personal growth, teaching her perseverance, adaptability, and the joy of lifelong learning. Through her teaching, she aims to create a safe and encouraging environment where students can discover their own potential and love for movement.

Reese Labuschagne

Biokineticist

Reese is a fully registered and qualified Biokineticist. She studied for 5 years, starting with her undergraduate in Human Movement Science at NWU in Potchefstroom. She then proceeded to do her Honours in Biokinetics at WITS University.

She has always had an enormous love for the human body. This started when she was a dancer.
She danced from the tender age of 3 years, and passed her AIDT Solo Performance Examination with a 97.8% score.
Her love for Biokinetics has grown even more since she has been able to help so many of her patients. She helps with strength building and avoiding injuries. Proper posture is also of the utmost importance to her. She feels that it is very important for dancers to learn the correct techniques and know how their bodies work to enable them to get the most out of their training with the least amount of risk.

As a biokineticist she is able to recognise potential errors in movement and posture and correct them to avoid long-term damage.

"I am very excited to share my knowledge and guide every dancer to be the best version of themselves."
